That was fun. Not.

While I was busy packing, surrounded by pukers, I may have overdid it. A little.

I woke up at 12:30 AM with a throbbing migraine. The entire contents of the medicine cabinet are on the bedroom dresser. This is the fall out from packing, cleaning, and painting the bathroom.

Feeling my way to the Imitrex box, I popped one out, and swallowed it; hobbled downstairs and made an ice pack, then settled back on the bed and waited for the effects of the miracle migraine medicine to begin.

I fell asleep.

I woke at 2:30 AM, migraine banging away and my neck feeling like a bomb was going to explode out the side. PRESSURE. THROBBING PRESSURE.

Fuck. A mother of a migraine. A two Imitrex migraine.

The well worn routine was repeated.

Mother fucker. 5:30 AM and I'm praying to the porcelain. Is it the migraine or has the flu made it's way to me....

I debate whether to take another Imitrex. Insurance only allows me 9 pills a month. But the movers are coming at 8 AM on Wednesday and the schedule has no room for mom to take a day off over the weekend. I NEED to kick the evil pain out.

This time I happen to turn on a light.

As I go to pop out another Imitrex, I ALMOST mistake the Imodium Advanced anti diarrhea medicine for the Imitrex. Yikes. Close call.

I vague feeling sweeps over me and I look at each of the boxes. They are not lined up in the order they would have been in the medicine cabinet. I count the pills.

Son of a bitch. I was taking the Imodium all night instead of the Imitrex.

Nice.

  3. You are not an idiot, constipated? Maybe.... Ooooohhh... that migraine sounds awful- it never fails on the biggest days does it? Good luck to you on the move.

  4. I suppose it could have been worse. Better Imodium than laxative right?

Hope the migraines sort themselves out quickly!

  5. Oh, thank goodness you discovered this! I get killer migraines; if one wakes me up, imitrex pills won't touch it and I need the injectables which work so quickly. My doc fills out a form to override the insurance company allottments for the month. I don't know if that's a possibility for you (most insurance co don't even admit that this is a possibility, but it always is), but I know how hard it is to deal with a migraine when you don't have the correct meds.
I hope you felt better. Take it easy; it'll get done! xo

  16. That sucks on so many levels. I hope you are feeling better, Pseudo! (Why is it after I am finally able to sleep off a migraine, I wake up feeling like a new person?)

  17. Oh NO! Well...if it makes you feel any better, my cousin once thought she was taking a sleeping pill so she could get a good nights sleep before a big job the next day. Instead, she accidentally took an ecstasy pill that someone had give her as a joke years before, and had been in the bottom of the drawer. And she couldn't even enjoy it, because she spent the night kind of tripping and worrying about sleeping!

  18. At least you figured it out in the end, right? Were you able to catch a few hours sleep, at least?

Good luck with the last minute stuff. It will all be worth it once it's done.

  36. Shit. Or not....:))

I had one yesterday, splitting, soul-destroying headache...I don't know what it is....after effects of the accident, tension, something. Ouch. Heavy, heavy drugs are goooood.

  39. ok, that blows, but i did chuckle a little bit. i guess it could have been worse, you could have (if it came in pill form) taken ipecac (sp?)--that medicine that makes you hurl. THAT would have been ugly.
