Oahu Coffee Beat: Traveling Thursday

The Coffee Gallery in Haliewa on Oahu's North Shore is hands down my favorite coffee house on the island. Great coffee, one of a kind setting. Free wifi if you actually tote your laptop on vacation.
Indoor and outdoor seating. Inside, the panels of the ceiling are each painted by a different local North Shore artist. Once, at the tables outside, a little old lady was doing palm readings.

Occasionally there will be a random musician playing outside as well.

What a coffee house is meant to be. Before the Mickey D's of coffee (yes - I mean Starfucks) took over the world.

Link on up with your own favorite local haunt or traveling of any variety.

  1. Mmmmm...coffee. I hope it's better than that motor oil Starbucks serves, too.

  10. Oh, I'm back at the beach - alleluia!

Sea salt air mixed with coffee brewing. Does not get any better.

We got turned on to Kona when we were in Kauai (2001), and have never gone back. Would love to buy you a cup at the Coffee Gallery - one day.

  17. Yes, I enjoy finding the old fashioned coffee houses. Although, all the interesting people there keep me from concentrating on my lap top. Hope all is well.

  18. Funny how you don't think of Hawaii when you think of a nice hot cup of coffee. haha

  19. I would think it too hot in Hawaii to drink hot coffee but merely saying that proves I dont drink coffee at all. My mom and brother and Husband would drink coffee sitting on the sun.

  20. wow a good number starbucks haters visit your blog. I just went to one today. I like starbucks.
OK full disclosure my daughter works at one and she gets health insurance. Other big companies should follow their lead.

But OK they are a big company and a small independent coffee shop has a special appeal (if they have good coffee).
