Today's tip is short and sweet. Oahu has a great transit system via The Bus. If you come on a budget and don't have a rental car, don't be afraid to hop on.
I sold my car when we moved to town and have been riding the bus. I have a lot of scribbles in a notebook that have as yet to be written into posts.
Got a travel post? A tip of where to go near your home or state? A photo post? You can link on up, and the post does not have to be written today....

I'll remember this tip for my future travel experiences. Greetings from Southern Oregon.
nice...love using public transit...so many people to watch
I spent many years utilizing public transportation - Oldest Son, who practically lives in downtown Dallas, still does. You're right; it's so much cheaper than maintaining a vehicle.
I hope that the warm weather is upon us that I'll be able to participate in Travel Tip Thursday more often. In fact, I look forward to it.
After another unexpected hundreds spent on my car this year, I considered selling mine too. *grumble grumble*
Anyway, I LOVE cities with good public transit (think: Europe!) and I hope someday I can live in one.
If I lived in a city, no way I'd own a car.
I love taking the train into the city (like once a year)... the people watching is fantastic.
Living where I do, the bus just isn't an option for getting around. Everything is too far from each other. However, when I was in Chicago, whenever we wanted to go anywhere, we either walked or hopped in the L. Everything was close!
No bus here, but I love riding buses in cities (and trains between cities). Where is the TTT link?
Widget, that's the thing I'm looking for...? My post is up: http://sagecoveredhills.blogspot.com/2011/04/minnie-evans-chapel-travel-post-and.html
My favorite part of living in England was the train/bus system. They have incredible public transit. Oh, and I did "travel". He, he, he.
Jude's favorite thing when we visit NYC is the public transit - the bus, subway, taxis - the kid loves them all! I need to get an LA Travel Tip Thursday up soon. Maybe I'll tell about our little known, but very cool, subway system.
Unfortunately, I live in an area where public transportation is just not avaialable.
Wait....am I too late?
Damn. I always miss the bus...
xoxoxo missed you :)
