Grey's Anatomy Wisdom

Watching whole seasons of shows I shouldn't make time for is my diversion of late.

Lately it's been Grey's Anatomy.

Seasons two through five.

And in a few seconds of voice over, Alex Karev described my last two years...

Trauma messes everybody up
but...
maybe that's the point.

All the pain
and the fear
and the crap;
Maybe going through all that
is what keeps us moving forward.

It's what pushes us.

Maybe we have to get a little messed up,
before we can step up.

And in case you're now bummed and need a laugh, head on over to The Bloggess. This post of hers will lighten things up. For sure.

I love it, it is so poetic.

I'm watching How I Met Your Mother, any wisdom it is Barney's.

i gotta agree with that quote. 'all the crap' is what eventually gets me to pull up my socks and stop the chaos....

Oh Grey's!! Seasons 1-2 are the best, 3-5 meh, 6-7 great again, and 8 so far is strong.

Love the voiceover wisdom. :)

Also, I totally second How I Met Your Mother. It's SO funny! (Kind of like Friends, though, the humor is disarming, b/c the stories are great and the relationships are so... real.)

I never watched Grey's Anatomy but I've seen an actual first edition. Totally not the same I know. Can't argue with the sentiment From the show, not the book.

Maybe...Never watched Grey's Anatomy. Good to see you, however. Hope all is well.

Grey's is a good show and so is Alex. I wish the writers would get back on track with the storyline and stop with the stupid "filler" shows they've been doing of late.

Glad to see you posting. Hope all's well.

I have to admit that I've never watched a single episode of Grey's Anatomy. I don't know why. Maybe I need to do what you did, and just barrel through entire seasons at a time. Are they on Netflix?

One thing is for sure, trauma messes you up, I can see how just a couple of relatively brief traumatic periods have had a profound on my life, outlook, attitudes, everything.

But having said that, there's some truth in saying that it makes us step up. There's also truth that it makes me hide in the cave, but hey, I'm not proud of that.

Good to see you. Karev is pretty smart sometimes. On the outside, he really tries to be a dick. But he's really not. :) Hope to see more of you.

I don't watch Gray's, but I do know that Dr. Karev is hot.

And apparently quite wise too.
