I can't believe it is only Tuesday

I'm buried in work. Behind on lesson planning and behind on grading.

I've got more half written posts than Border Collie has toys.

But I need a dream interpreted. Last night I dreamt I was at the Volcano on a trip. I was taking pictures. But the person smiling in front of the camera was me. I was taking a picture of myself. The me posing for the camera was a young me, I'd say early twenties, and I was wearing a red shirt and jeans. I can't remember the other people in the dream. There were a bunch of others I was taking pictures of with other me.

Which one was the real me?

What does it mean?

Wow! I had a dream that I had to interpret, too.

Have you been thinking of your childhood lately?

mama - Sunday night at my friend's house for the Oscars, she buted out aphoto album and was showing my daughter pics of us back in the early 80's. That's what I figure it probably is about.

Will stop by later, gotta run, am late for work !!!! I need a day off.

That's a pretty cool dream! No idea what it means, but it's intriguing to think about.

That's easy to interpret, your sub-conscious wants to see more red in your wardrobe, and, you're young at heart?

I think your subconscious was just telling you to look back at those younger days and remember how you were then.

Maybe so overwhelmed, you're just seeking a time that had more excitement/fun/intrigue than lesson plans and grading papers. Perhaps your dreams took you to the Volcano for a short break from the mundane.

i think the dreams are a part of this blogger's malaise thing that's going around and getting us all down...i have been having bizarro ones off and on....mine involve things like weird computer viruses that i can't escape and mountains of cookies needing to be decorated that i can't escape...

altho stoneskin's young at heart was a pretty good answer for yours :)

I haven't a clue how to interpret your dream...any dream, come to think of it.

I think the blogger's malaise that Thistle speaks of is just simply late winter blues, for those of us who live in more temperate zones. Maybe. I don't know - I'm not much better at psychology than I am at dream interpretation.

Stoneskin's theory sounds good to me!

Dreams like this usually stem from massive cheesecake deficiency. Eat some, wash down with wine, and then get back to me.

I think it means you really want a cheeseburger.

Oh wait thats me. : )

Sounds to me like you need a vacation. ^^groucho eyebrows^^

Vitamin C deficiency for sure.
"C" stands for Cheesecake.
Or Cheeseburger.
Your extraordinarily intelligent commenters have found the cure for odd dreams, blogger's block AND the winter blahs.

I agree with everyone before me.

Your working too hard and wanting to be the younger you. But, then again, I've been wrong many, many times before.

I like the cheescake and wine answer better.

Maybe you are trying to "capture" your youth again, therefor you are trying to take pictures...

The volcano... hummm... something good is about to erupt in your life!

You are observing yourself (which is always a good thing) and the self you see if young.
And you see life as an adventure.

And you need cheesecake and wine and a day off!! :-)

I'm too busy to blog too.

That is a great dream... I'm wondering how did you feel when you woke up?

Possibly you are at a point of your life where it is necessary to be introspective. Perhaps your subconscious is nudging you into a self-evaluation and because it's a younger you, your subconscious is telling you to look at yourself in a pasts experiences in order to help you learn the lesson?

Dream meanings fascinate me; I would love to take a class or seminar on dream interpretation.

Wow, cool dream! Just reading your post, though, makes me glad I'm taking a break from teaching. I plan to go back when the kids are in school, though...is it hard to teach, and then come home to your own kids? I would think sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't, just like anything else, I guess.

Was the volcano active? If so, then it would be an indicator of stress. And that could explain 2 of you. As a teacher, you have so much work, you need to be cloned to get all the work completed.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I have a dream book around here somewhere.
You say you're buried in work. Maybe you wish you could be like the carefree self you were in your 20s.

I think you're all on to something. I had been looking at pictures of myself and roomates a couple of nights before and the thing that impressed me the most (besides how toned my legs actually were back then when I didn't appreciate it) was how musch carefree fun we had back then.

And I need cheeseburgers, cheesecake and wine. I have some wine around here somewhere.

Excuse me.

And. Yeah. I do need two of me this week.

Sounds like a definite reaction to stress and walking down memory lane with the pictures. I dreamt last night I was eating chicken wings and getting them on Columbia brand pants. I'm not sure why I dreamt that or more importantly, why I just shared that with you.

I'm no help here. I get chased by giant blow dryers the size of 747s in my dreams.

Dreams are usually about *other us*. You watch yourself, may change the events, may learn something about yourself that you've got no idea about. It's really cool. However, I prefer not to interpret anything.

Once I dreamt that there was a dark cold night and I was at some really old place and there were sirens lights outside. I remember I looked through the misted window and saw a few guys in uniform carrying someone on the stretcher. I thought in my dream that there was me on that stretcher.

Many years later all this happened in real life. It was a cold night in a cold place. I looked through the window at the red and blue light. The person on the stretcher was not me, but I carried it.

I appreciate some of you sharing your own dreams in the comment thread. Focusing on dreams, mine and others, has caused me to be reflective and calmed me in the midst of a week that had me chaotic, overloaded, and too focused on the cerebral.

I hope that you get unburied very soon! I love reading about dreams because they fascinate me. I do think your dream was pretty cool.

Here is my take: Your daughter taking classes with former students who knew you in your cancer recovery days on top of recently seeing pictures of your younger self has caused you to think about the different "selves" you have been. You hold all these selves, like pictures, inside you.

I think the volcano represents how you know that other lives are always just below the surface and things can change quickly and violently.

I don't think it's a bad dream, just representing some introspection in this stressful time.

It's okay to feel stress, that hot lava roiling beneath the calm exterior. But don't forget to appease the gods with some cheesecake and wine! Be good to all your selves--you are a truly special person who has touched many lives.

Sounds like self reflection to me.

I've decided they are ALL the real you. We are so complex that I often think we like to try and simplify ourselves where we really can't.

I had that kind of week too.
