Weekend Stuff

I won a contest over at Oz Girl’s blog. She sent me a box with cool stuff. Look how pretty.
And I learned something. Oz girl made these stamps from her own photography at zazzle! Now there is something else on the internet I want to go fiddle with. You can go to this site and use one of your own photgraphs and make your own postage stamp.
The juice book should really help with my healthy intentions too. If any of you readers haven’t visited, go and check her out. Her full blog title is City Gal Moves to Oz Land. Her blog is down to earth, a lot of fun, and Oz Girl also has a photo blog with beautiful pictures.

Thank-you Oz Girl!

On another note…

Jane at Gaston Studio’s has passed on an award to little ol’ me. Jane is one of the best story tellers out there, and my goodness she does she have some stories to tell. From Savannah to Bahrain to Egypt, Jane has led quite an interesting life.

Here’s what Jane had to say about the award:

The Renee Award, I’m told, is one of the most meaningful awards in blogland because it honors someone who is incredibly inspirational in his or her intelligent and witty writing. This award further celebrates a person’s smart, strong and inspirational spirit and it honors those who spread joy and love like an acorn, a small package growing into a tall and sturdy oak tree which spawns more acorns.
Thank-you Jane! This is such an honor coming from you with the stories that you tell.

I’d like to pass this award on to these blogs whose stories I come back for time and time again.

All these bloggers are wonderful storytellers and inspirational as well. Grab yourself a weekend beverage and check them out. I think Mo Mad Dog is on vacation. He forgot to tell me where he was going. Despite this slight, I'm passing it to him, but he better pop up soon. I'm just saying.

Me? I need to go back to organizing the office and filing six months worth of crap. Apparently, it is a three day summer project. The computer being in the same room as a big chore can be a little distracting.

The stamps are very fun. I'll have to make some at Christmas or my cards.

Having the computer within a mile of where I am is very distracting! I can't seem to leave the damned thing alone!

Wow, you're winning left and right over there. Congrats! I love zazzle.com, it's fun to make something cool like that! I made my dad and Jamie both Father's Day shirts last year with cheesy pics of the kids!

Oh my goodness, Pseudo. Thank you very much.

And I've had some pretty weak content out there lately, so really, thanks. :-)

Also - congrats on your prize. I'm going to go clink off to visit the places I don't know about...

Thanks again. Happy Sunday.

Congrats on the award and winning such cool prizes! I made my own stamps one time of a picture of my son and his "He wants to make it clear that he wants nothing to do with this
child" father holding him and I use them every time I need to mail him something. He didn't like that. LOL
I still have some of them somewhere. Yes - I do go to the dark side on occasion..
good luck with the project!!

an extremely well deserved award!

I liked the post on Michael Jackson. I could picture you sitting in that chair and turning the big dial in search of the song. MJ to me will always represent moving to Hawaii. When we lived in Colorado I was too invovled in my parents' ministry to pay any attention in pop culture. When we moved to Hawaii, pop culture and the new friends who showed it to me were my lifeline. My friend Sammee wore one white glove to school everyday :) MJ and Madonna and Prince were the beginning of the end of religion for me.

Hear, hear, a toast to the girl with the mostest! :) Congrats on your award, most well deserved. I love your stories.

I am the same with my computer - it is always on (unlike my mother who turns her computer OFF after using it for 10 mins -- WTH??) and everytime I walk by the danged thing I have to check things out... grrr. So hard to get any housework done.

(And tell me you DID get the box with the pitcher and the note cards? I will be forever miffed at the postal service if it didn't make it to Hawaii!)

One more thing: Use them stampies up. I have made the fatal mistake of saving them for very special cards, and then the postal rate goes up, and then I have to put an ugly 2 cents stamp next to them! Wahhh!

And I neglected to mention -- thanks for the mention, very sweet of you! Hope you're having a nice, relaxing Sunday. :)

Congrats on the bling! It's always wonderful to be loved, huh? BTW, don't forget to swing by my Silly Sunday Sweepstakes today. We could use a dose of your sense of humor! And I'm intrigued by the title of your previous post...so must scoot over there, pronto!

I'm truly honoured. Especially with the implication that I'm intelligent and witty.

I was in France. Drinking wine and teaching a baby to crawl.

I'm very behind in my award handling but I'll snap this one right up!

The computer being in the same house is distracting. I've been cleaning out stuff on my break. It is a comforting feeling when it starts coming together.

Now, I'm off to make some stamps...

And congratulations on the award! You are very deserving!

BTW, my youngest just launched a photo blog, and I'm shamelessly trolling for traffic. Please visit my site to see what she's got going, and pay her a visit!
