A mixed plate adventure...
Heh, I've never been to a crab race. Of any kind. I have gone lobster fishing though, which was fun...Cool pic!
Fun. They are so cute.
I'm curious about the crab race... can't picture it...And cute? You're weird Erin.
I don't know what to say to that picture!
Do they get to run off again? Too small for pupus?! Thanks again for the award - I've passed it along!
Crabs are like, really cute, but kinda scary. I remember going crabbing (for much bigger guys) in Galveston with my cousin and uncle when I was about 10, and a crab clamped my cousin's thumb! Can we say childhood trauma? :P
Crab Race = walk on the beach with flashlights and a gaggle of kids.Catch crabs and put them in bucket.Draw a big cirlce in the sand around bucket, about five feet out. Have everyone stand around teh circle.Lucky kid gets to dump the bucket of crabs.Crabs run around and many run over of bare feet of observers.Everyone gets a thrill.
Those are a lot of crabs. Yicks!!!I have never seen a crab in person but our last trip to the ocean we got to know the jelly fish very well. They were everywhere.
That crab race sounds like a lot of fun! I'll have to try it on our beach vacation next year. :)Happy Friday. :)
I need to get out more. When I first saw the picture, I thought it was a bowl of feathers.
Camping near the ocean...night walks on the beach...can I just say that I am green with envy. It was snowing here last night but stopped, same thing this morning...it has stopped but more to come later. Even though it hasn't amounted to anything yet, I am still jealous. Maybe I need to convince my husband that we should move out of Minnesota? LOL
Tricia - that's pretty funny.Smiles - my mom is from Minnesota. Duluth. I only went there once before my grandaparents retired and moved to Cali.
That is a really cool photo:-)
They are so tiny! When I was young, I would spend hours down at the shore catching crabs.Just wanted to wish you Happy Birthday! A day early I know but I most likely wont get a chance tomorrow.
crab race sounds exciting...do people react to the crabs running over the feet like most people react to mice LOL? i'm having cartoon flashbacks as i write this...giggling...'synjugel'...that's what i wanted to stay home and do today instead of going to work in the rain
My 6-year-old's favorite activity at his grandparent's beach house. Amazing the happiness and memories one chicken leg, some string and a crab net can produce.FUN!!Em
We love to catch crabs every time we go to Mystic to see my sister. (did I just say that?) I mean REAL crabs. that you eat.
Yik! I'm an inland gal and crabs give me chills!
I'd love to see a crab race. That's awesome. Walking the beach at night sounds divine.
