Five Question Game

Laura at Under the Sheets is having a five question game. So I am playing along today.

Laura’s five questions:

1) What gets you out of bed in the morning?

That first cup of coffee and the list of things to do that start up in my head. I never set my alarm, as I wake up between 3 and 5 and can’t go back to sleep. It’s my stretching and computer time. Sometime catching up on work time. I don’t need to start getting ready for work until 6.

2) What scares you and how often do you think about it?

The idea of anything happening to my loved ones, especially my children, scares me. When I catch myself, I try to take a moment and say a prayer for their safety.

3) How important is making a home to you? For example do you like a home to meditate in, cook good food or have people over?

I like my home to feel safe and relaxing, a sanctuary of sorts. I do love to cook and occasionally have people over, but that tends to be on breaks. Work keeps me too busy to entertain during the quarters. I cook for my family on weekends. Although I want my kids to feel comfortable having their friends over, the truth is, I like it peaceful and quiet better.

4) Where in the world would you like to travel to next?

Hmm. The word next implies I’ve been able to travel at all. Except for visiting relatives in California, we have only had one family vacation. We went to the East Coast – Boston, NYC, and DC. Then traveled down to Florida to see my sister and her family.

If we are speaking where I am likely to travel next, it would be California or Florida. I haven’t seen my family in almost two years and miss them. And I miss road trips to places like this and this. However, if we are speaking fantasy vacations, I would like to go to Europe – especially Italy, Spain, Greece, England, and Ireland. I’d also like to go to Asia – China, Japan, and Indonesia. Then I’d like a trip to Australia and New Zeeland. Let’s not forget South America and Africa. I’d like to go just about EVERYWHERE.

5) What's your favorite Anti Aging Skin Product?

I use Clarins products. They are very expensive. I’m not sure how favorite of mine they are as despite their high cost, the wrinkles and aging signs keep on coming. My older sister uses Clarins and her skin is gorgeous. She is four years older than me, but her skin is so much better. So when I started noticing the aging of my skin I took up using what she uses. But she lived for 20 years in the Pacific Northwest, while I was body boarding and beaching it over here that whole time.

I am definitely going to check Laura’s links to see what the others who play along use for antiaging….

Thank you for the linky love. I wish I could live right on the bluff at El Capitan. I just love that place! I would love to travel everywhere too. Sigh ....! I think I have a case of wanderlust today!

I'm with you - I want to go EVERYWHERE!

I'm going to have to see a dermatologist - my skin has suddenly begun reacting very poorly to anything I put on it besides soap and water. I bought $50 worth of Loreal skin conditioners and anti-aging creams, and I broke out in a horrible rash. I bought over $100 of Elizabeth Arden makeup, and swelled up like a balloon. It's getting to where I'm afraid to try anything new at all on my skin.

I can relate to a few of these, especially the first cup of coffee (oh how I crave it when I wake) and worrying about loved ones.

Oh Clarins. Nice indulgence.

Maybe you can score a sample for pushing their products ;-).

Okay I'm gonna have to come back fo this one.. great questions!

I'm stopping by to thank you for your comment wub on my BIG SITS feature day.. it was a BLAST! You asked if I'd grown up in San Diego.. well (shy blush) sort of.. I actually lived in a small, stiny, sweaty, desert town called El Centro. I spent every spare moment though "over the hill" in San Diego and went to school there.. I call it home though, does that count?

I love your answer to your house, and family.

I think I want to go EVERYWHERE, but I suspect my love of peace and quiet has a lot to do with why I have not been everywhere ;-)

My skin care secret is weird, but I swear by it (I have never had great skin and now my family comments on how great my skin looks). Drum roll, please...olive oil and sea salt scrub every night and plain white vinegar rinse every morning. I call it the salad treatment! It's cheap and it works. Then I just use moisturizer with sunscreen in it. I know, TMI!!

My Littlest loves BC walking the Old Man video! Hope you are enjoying spring break.

I'm with you on most of your answers...especially, the coffee first thing in the morning with stretching and computor time...that is me all the way. The same things scare me and I try to pray right away when those thoughts come into my mind.

Hope your enjoying your break!

I'm going to answer #3 on your blog space as making a home is most important to me. HGTV? Keep it. When people come to my house, they don't feel like they have to worry about removing their shoes or leaving something out of place.(And not because it already is out of place.) I worry that many are not making a home anymore, just a house.

And PHST, I'm going to follow your advice and spend my weekends doing the things I love. The writing, the reading. Sometimes it seems I just need someone to remind of what is important. I thank you.

Having a home is vital for me. I do miss my pre divorce social life that is for sure. We used to entertain a lot and it was great having people over.

When you make your plane reservations for Italy, call me, I'd be happen to join you

Our next trip will be to your neck of the woods. Go to Europe.

Wait, you wake up that early unprompted? The only reason I know that those hours exist on a clock are because someone has yelled me awake.

I hear Ft Myers, FL is nice this time of year.. ;-)

I worry about my loved ones, too. Perhaps too much. My eldest is down in FLA on Spring Break, and her neck o' the woods had a tornado warning this morning. I'm almost ashamed to admit that I'm the one who told her about it...I need to be more restrained, some how, I think...

You can always come and visit MS!

I can't believe you don't set an alarm. I wouldn't sleep a wink. I'm with you on 2-4 completely. But I'm not much of a lotions/potions girl. I should be because my skin looks like crap. So Clarins, huh?
