As her brother-in-law is quoted in the news article from her eulogy,
He asked the mourners to honor Asa's memory and "pick up a book and read. ... Read to learn something, read to enjoy. ... Just maybe you're reading for a better world."

What a tragic story. It sounds as though she was an inspiration to many people.

Oh my gosh, i couldnt..can't stop crying...just watched the KHON story. I was from the Kaimuki side of the island.
So tragic. those poor children will grow up without there mommy because of someone who was crazy....that sucks.

What a terrible thing to happen. I'm trying to figure why the guy would only get charged with 2nd degree murder. The comments by kids at school are wonderful. I wish her family the best.

A good life cut too short. It's really sad to know and more so that with her passion in reading, she influences others. May she rest in peace and may the culprit/s be served justice soonest.
