Spring Break Mix

Yea. Spring Break. A chance to catch up on work and grading, yes. But also to not pack everyday with all that is necessary to keep abreast of busy lives. Longer walks and idle time is important too.

So, my daughter is walking through the house and sings, "Let's do the fork in the garbage disposal. Ding da ding ding ding, ding da ding ding ding" as she waves her arms in the air.

Me, eyebrows raised,

That is so weird, I've heard two students sing that same thing walking into class. Is that a real song?

Daughter walks me into the office and shows me this video. Then a list of YouTube copycat versions made by teens. How will I know what students are doing instead of English once my teens leave home?

Don't watch past the first minute or so if you have sensitive sensibilities. Edit note: And as Jan mentions in the comments, the funniest stuff is the first minute.

With a little more time on my hands, my dog walking is not as time pressing. I can take the boys for extra walks. BC was so excited to go for an extra walk he grabbed the leash out of my hand. I think the Old Man was pissed at me for allowing this, but I was nonetheless entertained. I might get sent to doggie hell for it though.

Just so you know, warning that my "sensitive sensibilities" might be offended if I watch the entire thing just guaranteed that I, well, watch the entire thing.

I think I was offended, but only because it got rather stupid at that point.

The fork in the garbage disposal though? CRACKED. ME. UP.

Don't worry -- my two teenage daughters grew up and have (sort of) left home but continue to fill me in on what's new and cool - mainly by pointing out the things I do that are not. ;) Anyway, keeping up is what Facebook is for!

Yup...having the teens at home keeps me current on my Cherubs. Having the Cherubs at school keeps me up-to-date on what to watch out for in my kids!

LOL what the heck is that YES video?! Or maybe I don't want to know...

Also, HOW CUTE that BC walks the Old Man! You're right, the Old Man doesn't seem to find it quite as amusing. But he's old, so that's normal. :P

Curses! You've just ensured a 50-year-old woman will go around singing, "ding da ding ding ding, ding da ding ding ding", arms in the air, ALL DAY LONG. It won't be pretty.

Thanks for the laugh.

This is too flippin funny! I have never heard of this before but then again, I'm not really in the "know" anymore since I don't have teenagers or young adults living in my house anymore. I was watching this and my husband came over and said "what in the world are you watching?" which only cracked me up more. My little peopel seen it and instantly started dancing like them...lol.

Hope you have a great break and get filled up and refreshed!

Wow, I doubt I'll ever get that song/dance out of my head, thanks! Kids these days. Heh, who knew I'd ever be saying that phrase, I'm officially old.

BC looked overjoyed to be walking the Old Man. OM, not so much. Enjoy your time off, relax!

Poor old man...Biggest would thump on the Scooterdog if he tried that walking the dog trick. Might make for some entertaining video tho :)

Both of these videos provided the exact amount of needed funny bone tickling first thing this morning. I especially love the dog "show".

Teehee to both vids...
When you said "old man", I thought you were referring to your hubby being pissed, not the dog. Hilarious!

I believe in the yes!

Oh yes, the youtube stuff and teens. I hadn't seen that--and I will NOT share it with my boys. BAHAHAHAHAHAHA Did your kids find the McDonalds Rap a couple years ago? Oh, I hope they don't. I swear my head was going to explode from that one. We are also still hearing quotes from Charlie the Unicorn...

I'm just catching up on my blog reading and I'm so glad I came here first this morning. These two videos were hilarious. I don't know how the kids find these things. A You Tube search for stupid videos? Very funny. Love the fork. It might have to become my new move around the house. Send your daughter over and we'll dance around together. LOL

The dogs are great. You can just imagine the Old Man saying, "Dumb little whippersnapper."

Thanks for the morning pre-coffee entertainment.
