Travel Tip Thursday: Favorite Beach Rerun
I spent yesterday at one of our favorite beaches. We go there when we need quiet and isolation. When we need the sun to melt time into mercury, leaving its shimmer as it penetrates ocean, sand, and reef. A place where a turn of the head can change the view from wind whipped kite surfers to a kaleidoscope of parachutes twirling and dropping through the sky scape. A little more turn towards the mountains and you can watch twin engine planes towing gliders and letting them loose to swing back and forth across the horizon, a graceful pendulum dance back to earth.
Yesterday on our walk out to the point, we passed 10 Hawaiian sea turtles feeding on the reef right on shore.

Glad you had some quiet time at the beach.
it would be so cool to see the sea turtles...hope you had fun!
I would love the hang with the turtles. We might be headed to the beach this weekend... I'm dreading it, you know, small kids and all the gear, and whining, and bathroom trips, and whining...
I'm wondering what size they are...those giant ones?
So when I get off the airplane do I take a right or a left to get to your place?
Cool beach walk. I could picture the sea turtles and the wind surfers and the gorgeous, gorgeous water.
Here in Florida now, so maybe I'll find my own beaches to blog about. :)
Seriously, reading your description alone put me in a zen mood.
Oh, I remember this beach! Glad you had a nice relaxing day. It sounds amazing.
Wow. I felt my back muscles melting just reading that description.
I LOVE turtles, we have a beach near us where you can see them regularly. Your beach sounds fab :0)
yes, beaches are awesomely calming places. Nice
The only beach we had the ability to see on Oahu was Waikiki and we ditched it due to all the tourists. We were only there for less than 24 hours to see the USS Arizona memorial. But we do so love to discover off the beaten path beaches - we did just that on Kauai, Maui and on visits to St. John in the USVI.
Again, incredibly jealous! LOL
I know about those little places that you go to that give you a little peace-Each person has their 'spot.'
Personally, I think it's essential for people to have their getaway spots.
That way we don't go crazy :)
