Batten Down the Hatches: But Seriously, It’s Travel Tip Thursday

Today’s travel tip is:

Know when to stay home.

Huddle up.

Get your chicks into the nest and sit on them.

I went image searching in google for a photo to fit this post and found this one on a blogger's site. Farmgirl generously gave me permission to use it here.

From the comfort of your home, click on the links to go virtual traveling. And please, add your vacation or staycation post to Mr. Linky.

We live a couple of hours away from the coast and we have to batten down the hatches from time to time. Nothing like a staycation by candle light!

Love farmgirl's picture!

That was perfect!

Well, we live so far inland, the biggest lake is a pond.

And the wind is blowing and the rain is falling!

Maybe we aren't so far away from you after all!

I'm staying inside today!

Had my staycation the last 2 weeks. We did a few things here and there, but kept very close to home. Nothing like it!

We, too, are not far from the coast so also have a need to batten down the hatches every now and then. As long as it's not a dangerous one, I actually love a really good storm!

Short, sweet, and to the point.
Love it!

We may or may not be close to an incoming hurricane this weekend. Ack.

Hope school isn't beating you up too much...

We're doing the staycation this Christmas. Sometimes it's better to remodel your bathrooms than to go gallivanting off somewhere.

I live on the coast too, but my ocean doesn't have hurricanes. Typhoons, maybe, but not on this side. The first thing this post reminded me off was being stuck at home last Xmas because it snowed so much we couldn't get out of our own driveway.

I love it! I'm going to go sit on my son right now before he can ever think of leaving again.

Living in the smokies is like being on "vacation" all the time, but my brother talked me into going to Vegas with him this summer - good lord! it was....a strange place.

The very best advice! I'm home now after my almost 2-week Great American Silo Tour, and I'm feeling a little like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. There's no place like home...

I know everyone will probably hate me for saying this - but I think I would kinda enjoy some kinda weather - any weather.

I like that travel tip. Especially since we can't travel much these days.
