Whatever Happened to Customer Service?

Dear So and So...

Dear Asurion,

In all my 51 years on this planet, you are the biggest piece of crap company I have run across. A more detailed letter will be forthcoming, copies of which I plan to send to anyone and everyone who can take you down. Suffice it to say I am on to you. In a nutshell, you have got a lot of fucking nerve to take my money every month for insuring our cell phones and then give me the runaround and bullshit blow off for the last two weeks. My time is precious and when I am through with you, I hope to make an example of companies having to pay customers back for time wasted.

Dear T-Mobile,

Although I realize (as you have explained it to me numerous times) that you are not responsible for the asshatery of Asurion, and that all the other cell phones companies use Asurion too, I don’t give a flying fuck. That is akin to my children telling me that they cannot help the micro scratches on the car as all the car washes scratch the cars while running them through (hello?? Wash the fucking car at home like mom and dad). Or my students telling me they don’t do homework because no one else does homework. YOU T-MOBILE YOU have been taking quite a chunk of my money for a family plan on cell phones. I may be old fashioned in my thinking, but perhaps you could spend less on advertising (Ms Zeta Jones I assume lives quite well already) and spend more on research/development and customer service. And since you cannot deliver on service, nor make me a happy customer, have the decency to let me out of my contract. You cannot tell me on the one hand that I have a very legitimate complaint and you don’t blame me for being pissed and sorry you cannot do anything more than to take the Asurion (aka DEVIL COMPANY) payments off my bill, THEN TURN AROUND AND TELL ME THAT YOU WILL CHARGE ME $200 FOR EACH PHONE ($600 TOTAL) TO GET OUT OF MY CONTRACT. Do not tie your customers into two year contracts because you sold them piece of crap phones that were not built to last more than a year.

Governor Lingle,

I cannot even bring myself to write the word “dear” in front of your name.

I really enjoyed hearing how you want to cut my pay by 14%. Because, as everyone knows, we make so much as teachers.

Please keep in mind that we are an educated bunch. Your bullshit agenda and rationale does not fly with me nor my colleagues.

Please do not use my livelihood, nor the educational future of the public schoolchildren of Hawaii, to ascend to a platform in national politics. I would prefer (and so would many others) you resign and go join your crazy friend in Alaska.

And yeah. I voted for you. Every time you ran. Fuck me.

I will not take a second job to make ends meet for our family. I worked two jobs the first eight years of teaching due to the poor salary - I am too old to go there again. I might, however, move to a state with a lower cost of living and a higher teacher salary. Or go back into the private sector where I could make quite a bit more money.

Fuck you and your high horse too.

I swear, if you bitch enough, you can get out of your T-Mobile contract. I did! Yes, they are assholes!!!!!

They are going to cut teachers salaries by 14%? I would so be protesting!!! Yeah, let's cut the salaries of the people responsible for teaching our future leaders. Makes so much sense. IDIOTS!

The Customer Service Dept. is located adjacent to the Complaint Dept., right out back behind the dumpster.

Well alrighty then. So good of you to give these people a piece of your mind because obviously they don't have one of their own. I hope you feel better and I hope you actually sent these letters. Word for word.

Wow!
I thought I was the only 51 year old on the planet who wanted to write those words to every retailer/car company/government worker/postal server/member of parliament/credit card company.......
I am impressed.

I have always been an AT& T girl and glad I am . Every body I know has had trouble with T-moble. Like Mango girl said if you bitch enough they will at least replace the cheap ass phones till your contact is up. Tell them you have a blog also with over 1100 follows who have followers and you play to post about the crap ola service and give them the date of the blog to be...THIS will help them change their mind real fast!

Oh, honey - if you want to move to a state with a better cost of living, come to Ohio! Trust me, our local school system could use some good teachers.

And I could use a good neighbor!

Whooowheeee! If I was that governor, I'd have my PR on the phone to you right now! Did you tell him, or what?!! Loved it all, but that's my fav!

P.S. Think I used enough explanation points here?

1. This would make an excellent F-You Friday post.
2. I think you should let them all know you have a blog.
3. Probably cheaper to live in Maine. :-)
4. Will we see your governor as a new Fox News host too?

Hang in there. xxxooo

I'm with Jan ~ move to Ohio! ....we even have a beach right next to Lake Erie!

Phones schmones. I refuse to ever EVER own one again.

Send the letters! Don't stop complaining, go to the supervisor, the general manager, whatever you need to do. It's a pain in the rear, but you'll get what you want!

Anonymous said...

Ouch!

Note to self: try REALLY hard to never be on the receiving end of a letter like THAT. There's smoke coming out of my computer.

FWIW, teachers don't make much in NH either, but the cost of living is certainly lower here. A 14% pay cut? Seriously?? Our school is expanding, and we're hiring more teachers...wanna send in your resume?

The surfing sucks here, though.

Wow I would not want to upset you. I am glad you got this all out. I bet that helped. Here is a yummy drink just for you. Enjoy. Have a great weekend.

Isn't Dear So & So great therapy?

Good luck with the cell companies. They got you by the kahonas and they know it - HATE that fact of cell phone life.

I'd love to have you drop by my place: Life Makes Me Laugh

They want to cut the education budget as well here (Rendell wants to raise taxes 16% and lower all the benefits, like taking away retirement). He actually said the trained chimps could do the Dept of Corrects jobs better.

It's like he's standing on a tower screaming "fly, monkeys, FLY!"

So I feel your pain at being forced to witness and reap what the asshatery has sown.

Cristin said...

We had one of our phones out for repair for the second time this summer and they lost the freaking thing!! We had the warantee through Best Buy and they had to give us a free replacement.

Movie is right...this sounds an awful lot like an F You Friday.

Ohio is also attacking teacher pay!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!

I have a masters in mathematics!! What the heck do they think I should be paid???

Over paid!!! I have not encouraged any one to go into education. If you have half a brain, get a job in business where you are allowed to be paid a decent wage for your education.

i hope you feel a bit better now- that's why i never buy insurance for anything -except car, home and health- and even they fuck you in the end.

I've heard that a lot of European countries do not even allow cell contracts because of all the BURNING HATRED they cause.

bernthis said...

while you are on a roll, any chance you could write to AT&T and United Airlines as well.

I feel your pain, oh do I. These companies they just don't get it. It's the customer that is number one, Jeez

I should write a few of these letters, too. I worked my way thru college & young adulthood in customer service, sometimes holding 2+ jobs to make ends meet. Whatever happened to the axiom, The Customer is Always Right? It's like most of these folks are soooooo not interested in making a sale, huh? A little pride, people...

Michele said...

What is it about those of us in public service that screams......idiot! I don't know any educators, and I include librarians in that group, that are idiots. Our pay should not be incumbent upon th whims of politicians.

Cell service plans suck. I'm just sayin'

Midlife Roadtripper said...

Smokin' indeed. I hope you feel better. It's Friday. Take a deep breath --- and pretend you are breathing fire and blowing up TMobile headquarters. Now. Go for a walk on the beach. Glass of wine in hand. Ahhhhhhh.

Take good care, Pseudo teacher friend.

Fire breathing Friday! I hate my cell phone too!

Don't you feel better now? Angry letters keep me out of jail.

I hope you mail these. I'm so glad I don't have that evil cell phone provider. I do however; agree with your point on signing 2 year contracts and all the BS assigned to it. I can't stand that ish! :(

Big Mama Cass said...

Awesome rant!!

Good stuff :)

Oh and I have had Verizon for 7 years and they have the best customer service (in my opinion) and the service is pretty amazing. Just an idea.

Good luck with your phone! and your pay decrease.

K Dubs said...

You GO GIRL. Bastards. All of them.

If you can't get service inside your home, they have to let you out of your contract. Just sayin'.. They're not coming out to check

Lori said...

You write great letters!!! Would you like to write one to my workmans comp company for me? Now that you got that off your chest would you like to have a virtual drink with me now? I could sure use one!

I have AT&T, athough the Motor RazR phone sucked big time and barely lasted 2 years - my hb's cheap-arse phone he bought 5 years ago is still going strong...huhn.

That was a beautiful rant. You should definitely send them to their respective recipients if you haven't already.

I'd tell you to move to Texas but I'd be lying to say that the educational system here is any better. Cost of living in parts of Texas is no doubt cheaper than Honolulu and its environs but that's about it. We suck when it comes to teacher pay.

S3XinthePantry said...

That sucks! Sorry about all the crap that is happening. I agree - one FT job per person is ENOUGH! And 14% cut WAY TOO MUCH. No big suprise that teachers are considering moving - - -

Smart Mouth Broad said...

Hurray! Bravo! Well said! Now put a stamp on them and mail the suckers!
